Is there a scope onit? Be sure to check the alignment of scope and bore . There have been problems with this on some models. Many of these have been sold under "store brand" names( mine is a Coast to coast model also in 222.). It is super accurate if you can shoot open sights. Most of these guns are only worth approx $200 in pretty good shape. It would make a good truck gun or cabin gun tho so if you like it and is in great shape; haggle the price down if you can. It may be a fun little toy to plink with, I know mine is. Just don't expect it to be a great scoped gun as many times thescope doesn't align properly with the bore . This is because of poorly made mounts not the gun. Mounts are hard to find and the ones from brownells just don't work well. Good Luck BUNKER

well i bought it. and have to say i really like the old gun. the thing looks almost new. i shot 50 rounds through it. four different loads. and it shot them all very well. the 4x kmart all-pro scope is coming off.i want to keep the gun looking vintage so i got a old 10x fixed power bushnell scope chief with a ao lens off ebay. i think its gonna make a fine little scouting rifle.

I bought a 340 Savage in .222 for $25 in 1957! It had a Weaver B-6 scope with an "N" mount and 38 rds of factory ammo; that was a lot of money for a kid making 50 cents an hour.

Now I know that it was the best firearm purchase that I ever made. That rifle went everywhere with me (except "Nam"), made a lot of 300yd shots, and never had anything done to it except cleaning with Hoppe's #9.

I have no idea how many rounds went through it, but I would be willing to bet that it would approach triple the rounds that any of my superguns have fired, and all for $25; what a deal!

I lost it, along with 36 other guns, in a house fire a few years ago; I SURE MISS THAT SUPERGUN!!!!

I hope that you get the pure enjoyment out of your "supergun" that I did out of mine.

See ya.
